Republican bill should include this name
Right now, the Republicans in Congress are moving a budget bill forward, passing it in the U.S. House by one vote and sending it to the Senate. Republicans convened their House Rules Committee at 1 a.m. on Wednesday to consider the bill, and they passed it in the middle of the night. Given that Congress typically works only four days a week and takes umpteen paid vacations, you know this is a lousy bill when Republicans have to hide their actions in the dark.
Among other things, the bill would drastically cut Medicaid, supplemental nutrition, and renewable energy programs. According to Republican plans, the savings from such cuts would not be used to reduce America’s government debt, but rather to give the money to wealthy individuals and corporations as giant tax cuts. The result, according to CBS News, could add trillions to our deficit.
The ridiculous name of this bill is the “One Big Beautiful Act.” That, of course, is not a description of what’s in the bill or what it does, which is normally how bills are named. Rather, it is a meta description of the bill by Donald Trump, using his typical over-the-top (and false) language. In what can only be described a boot-licking move, Republicans in Congress used Trump’s description as the actual bill name, to flatter their Dear Leader.
Unfortunately, the mainstream “news” media are also calling the bill by this name, but at least in some cases they use quote marks, and CBS News described it as “what [Donald Trump] refers to as the ‘big, beautiful bill’.” The last thing Democrats should do, therefore, is to use this name for the bill. Here are some alternatives:

Big Billionaire’s Bill
Billionaire’s Budget Bill
Bad Billionaire’s Bill
Big Bad Billionaire’s Bill
Bozo’s Barf Bill
